Scrapbook

Scrapbook is a web-based platform designed to support psychologists in conducting biographical and personalized cognitive stimulation activities for individuals with dementia. It facilitates the agile collection of personal content through an initial questionnaire that gathers information about the person's life history, such as interests, significant memories, and places they've lived. Based on this input, the tool automatically generates tailored content (images, videos, and text) and interactive activities by leveraging multiple APIs. These activities include jigsaw puzzles, flashcard memory games, interest-based quizzes, and reminiscence therapy sessions presented through a continuous slideshow of personalized media. Psychologists can use the platform to annotate content and provide feedback for further refinement. A companion mobile app, Caring, supports communication between psychologists and informal caregivers, helping to extend the impact of the therapy beyond the clinical setting. Scrapbook was used for over five years in both clinical settings and home-care environments.
